They have several upper level Quality Managers/Directors close to retirement so they need someone who can come in, learn their business, show they are ready to handle more and move up (multi-plant or corporate regional responsibility). This would start as the Plant Quality Systems Manager at one of their top performing facilities in a beautiful part of Arkansas (Ozarks area - mild climate, affordable housing and great recreational activities).

  • Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives.
  • Visits customers/suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality issues.
  • Provides technical assistance to other departments as it relates to total quality assurance.
  • Incorporates Lean principles with quality support approaches
  • Work within the structure of a Team Environment and act as a role model to team members and recognized as a leader.
  • Manages Quality Department and Quality Personnel
  • Works with sales/marketing, engineering and customers to understand and meet their needs.
  • Develop department budget plans and implement systems to capture, analyze and share the operations key process indicators with team members and management personnel.
  • Lead teams in achievement of overall objectives; such as: team involvement/engagement, employee-driven quality process, identifying improvement opportunities, developing work plans/offering and implementing solutions.
  • Identifies and develops a department operating plan that is consistent with and supports the business plan.
  • Determines what resources are required to successfully execute the plan.
  • Develops and initiates the direction and necessary resources to establish leading edge safety and environmental performance objectives for the department.
  • Leads and directs the development and deployment of key quality process initiatives for world class manufacturing (department utilization improvement, process capability enhancement, customer satisfaction, employee involvement, etc.) in support of plant objectives, vision and values.
  • Sets the standards, communicates and achieves clear and measurable expectations of performance for the operation as well as direct reports.
  • Takes the lead as agent for positive change, including raising the bar on objectives to attain and sustain “World Class Manufacturing” performance.
  • Supports a culture to leverage customer relationships/satisfaction, encouraging active communication, employee engagement, and talent development.
  • Investigates customer complaints and concerns regarding quality and utilizes the knowledge gained to improve company products and services.
  • Participate on Regional quality teams to facilitate the sharing of best quality practices and continually improving the strength of the Regional quality systems.
  • Demonstrate successful application of quality tools and techniques to facilitate continual improvement.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred) and 4+ years of Quality Experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Principles and Six Sigma
